5 ways my anxiety actually HELPS me!

I thought I would come on here to share some of the ways I have found over the years that having anxiety has helped me.

  1. I am always early. ALWAYS. I will be one of the first persons at your party and I am always the first one at my daughter’s bus stop in the morning.
  2. I feel motivated to get stuff done. If something is looming over my head, for instance, I have to write a paper for school, I will sit down and write it then and there so I don’t have to worry about writing it (if that makes sense). If there is something that needs to be done, I have to get it done ASAP. Anxiety tells me I can’t wait.
  3. I think I am a better friend because of it. I am very in tuned to how other people feel and consider myself an empath so I can be that friend that you can come to and I can feel what you feel.
  4. I always have a plan B (and C, D, and E). My mind likes to work things out for me and it actually can make me feel better. For example, one day I am worrying about losing my job. My mind starts to freak out but my anxiety is already making a plan for me. A plan that includes what I am going to do if that ever happens. More than likely it will never happen but if it does it I can be prepared for a change of situation fast.
  5. I am more alert than others. See that car that has been sitting in the parking lot watching us? See that same man who we keep running into at the grocery store? I am usually on high alert all the time (even when there is no real threat). My mind is wired to where most of the day I am in constant fight or flight which can be good in (potentially) dangerous situations.

I hope this helps!
